Language

The way we use different language in different circumstances depends on our audience. If I talk to my friends or people around my ages I use slang, words they can relate to and usually much quickier. When I am talking to my parents or adults, my language changes to some words i may not even know the meaning. But in the end it is still communication.

Over the recent holidays they weren’t as enjoyable as I thought they would be. Although the break was good, they were a bit boring but I on wednesday night I finally got to sit down and watch Summer Heights High rather than watch it on the internet. It was very funny to see one person play 3 different people so well and relate a show so much to a normal school day. I love Mr. G language and Jonahs of course. The word ‘ranga’ and ‘homo’ are now used by almost EVERYONE but in the context of a joke rather than offensive. Our generation understands the language use but some adults don’t seem to follow on.

girl with a pearl earring

Well we started reading girl with a pearl earring and personally it wasn’t exactly what i thought it would be.The painting seem more interesting than the book. Griet shows expression and feeling in the painting but during the book/film she shows very little emotion. I percieved her to be hiding parts of her and that the Vermeer family is good her a sign of the pearl earring but i haven’t read that much of the book i shall wait and see. Her family is very important to her and for this she leaves to become a maid for the Vermeer family earning the family money as her father is unable to.

I find it strange that the Vermeer children have to eat with the maids rather than their very own parents. I wouldn’t like it and feel apart from my parents. Also I know Vermeer is a pianter but having lots of paintings around the house would creep me out.

thats my thoughts so far.
